Colorful Pots to Make with Your Children

What You Need to Prepare

  • Recycled Cans
  • Craft paint
  • Craft sticks
  • Alphabet stamps

In making this DIY project, you can invite your children to join and invite them to like gardening. First, you need to color the cans using craft paint. Allow the children to do it and you can do the finishing touch to make sure that the paint is even.

After the cans are done, you can add a little label to the plant later using craft stick. To do this, you just need to stamp the letter to the sticks using the alphabet stamps. If you don’t have them, you can write the letter using sharpies.

After the paint is completely dried, you need to add some holes to the cans. It is important since the plants need some air circulation for the roots and it allows the plants to have good drainage to prevent the plants get rotten. You can use the can opener, drill, or nail and hammer to make the holes.

After the whole process is complete, you just need to transfer the herbs to your newly colored pots. You can make your children doing it, but you need to make sure that the roots are not damaged.

Then, you can add the little signs you make to the plant and place the plant in your kitchen or near the window in your house. You can place the pot on the tray to avoid water spilling.
